Black-capped Chickadee


Sex: males and females look almost exactly alike, but males are slightly larger and longer.

Range: Black-capped Chickadees can be found in the southern half of Canada and the northern part of the USA.

Nesting and eggs: these birds usually make their nests out of moss and other rough materials. They will nest in almost any habitat with trees. Their eggs have a length of about 0.65 inches and breath of 0.59 inches, and are white with reddish-brown spots.

Food: insects, invertebrates, nuts, seeds, and berries.

Population: 41 million individuals.
